At Giving Children Hope, we believe play is powerful. It fuels imagination, heals hearts, and builds the confidence every child deserves. With the Play It Forward Toy Grant, you can bring the magic of toys into the hands of children who need them most.

In partnership with Toys for Tots, we’re equipping nonprofit partners to create vibrant, toy-driven experiences that reach hundreds of children each—experiences that leave smiles long after the toys are gone.

Round 1 Applications open May 1 – May 30, 2025

We’re reviewing applications on a rolling basis, with a first-round priority window—so don’t wait! Grants will be awarded until our toy inventory is gone. Please note that applicants are invited to apply with ideas that allow for more than one toy for a child.

Apply early to help place every last toy into the hands of a child—and create unforgettable moments of joy.

Round 2 Applications open in late Summer.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not just distributing toys—we’re delivering transformation. We want to partner with organizations that:

Foster Joy and Creativity
Let kids be kids—curious, expressive, imaginative.

Create Lasting Impact
Help children grow through emotional, social, and developmental play.

Engage the Community
Unite volunteers, donors, and neighbors around moments that matter.

Encourage Innovation
Dream big. Use our guide—or bring your own bold idea to life.

Facilitator's Guide

To be eligible, your organization must:

Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, civic agency, or community group
Serve 500+ children (you are welcome to mobilize more than one toy for a child, too!)
Handle toy logistics (including pick up) and distribution
Offer an experience that sparks joy and positive moments
Committed to fulfilling impact reporting
Be passionate about nurturing youth and families
Have the ability to meaningfully distribute the toys within 2-3 months of receiving them.

A Note for applicants: We prioritize summer and fall events featuring Toy Experiences. Our goal is to assist organizations in curating year-round moments, not just during the holiday season. Thus, events outside November-December will be prioritized.
