It was a full house last night at GCHope! Fifty-five volunteers came by to help pack around 900 hygiene kits to send to the Philippines – that’s 900 Filipino families that will be reached! Each kit contained toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, basic first aid supplies, and many more items that were generously donated by companies including CVS, PSS, Amway, Delancey Street Foundation, World Emergency Relief, and PHS. Thanks so much to those companies for making this event possible, and more importantly, for serving those in need in the Philippines.
It was a fun event with people of all ages coming together to support the Filipino people affected by Typhoon Haiyan. GCHope staff couldn’t believe the amazing turnout of people and how fast the work got done! All the volunteers did a fantastic job and we couldn’t have done it without them. It was especially beautiful to see the hand-written notes of love and encouragement that the boxes were covered in when the evening was finished. There were such lovely and kind prayers written for these suffering people. Thanks everyone for joining us in this effort to help the Philippines!
