This week GCHope got to be a part of Quatro Café’s third annual “Wrapping Competition” along with other organizations such as Make A Wish, American Red Cross, Harbor Area Boys and Girls Club, HIS House, American Family Housing, Boys Hope Girls Hope, THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser, Veteran’s First OC, and Beckstrand Cancer Association. Each charity was given a box prior to the event to help plan and prepare but it was not allowed to be assembled until the event. GCHope recruited long time friends from Bella Dia Salon, Penny and Tammy, to help us wrap our box in a way that would represent GCHope. It was such a fun event with so many great non-profit leaders in one room competing for a $2,500 catered meal from Quatro Café. Penny and Tammy did an amazing job wrapping our box in brown paper making it look like a shipped package, representing all the supplies GCHope sends around the world. On top of the box there were travel-themed items including a globe, a train, Christmas ornaments, and even some food items that can be found in our WGYB backpacks. Unfortunately, we didn’t win but Penny and Tammy did a fantastic job! Thank you so much to both of you ladies as well as Bella Dia Salon for all your planning and efforts! We’ll get it next year!
