“I am good just the way I am” was Paul’s answer when we asked him what superpower he would want. We, too, wouldn’t want him to be anyone else but himself. Every Wednesday and Thursday morning, our Giving for Living program gets a little brighter when Paul walks in. By 10:00 AM, Paul is sitting at his workspace busily putting together furniture or carefully testing electronic appliances. Paul came to Giving Children Hope over a year ago when his son encouraged him to volunteer regularly for a couple days a week. Ever since then, Paul has helped a countless number of individuals through his role in our Giving for Living program.
As our most senior volunteer at 86 years old, Paul is also one of the most hard-working, dependable, and honest people we have ever worked with. Jacob, our GFL Partner Relations Coordinator, expressed his gratitude for Paul’s service: “We often help our non-profit partners get furniture to clients who cannot afford it. Without Paul’s persistence in building these items, a lot of these families would not get what they need. Paul is truly a valuable asset to our team and to the community.” Thank you, Paul, for changing the world alongside us. We are honored to have you here.
