Southern California Edison Volunteers to Help Syrian Refugees

We are excited to share that Syrian refugees in Lebanon will receive crucial hygiene kits from the Southern California Edison Company in Rosemead.

Jeff from Southern California Edison Company, located in Rosemead, heard of the work that Giving Children Hope does for Syrian refugees and felt compelled to make a difference. Jeff contacted us at Giving Children Hope and volunteered his team to make hygiene kits for the refugees, many of whom live in tight and unsanitary conditions with little access to hygiene products.

The team of Rosemead Edison employees all collaborated to pack 500 kits during one of their lunch breaks at work! These kits included supplies like toothpaste, soap, shampoos, razors, toothbrushes, deodorant and lotion, among many others. Each hygiene kit also included a note sending well wishes in Arabic.

In addition, Bob, one of Jeff’s colleagues, reached out to his personal contacts who had the resources available to send pallets of blankets and linens along with the shipment. Monetary donations were also made by the Edison employees and to continue Giving Children Hope’s work for Syrian refugees.

All supplies were shipped off to Lebanon on Monday, November 9. Thank you Southern California Edison Company in Rosemead; your efforts have not gone unnoticed!
