Chairman of the Board
James Wilcox has been the President of Raymond Handling Solutions for seven years. He brings valuable warehouse management, marketing, and community relations experience to Giving Children Hope’s Board of Directors. James earned his degree in History and Political Science from Texas State University and is involved with the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Kim, reside in the city of Orange.
Sandra and her family have been volunteering at Giving Children Hope for several years. She has over 30 years experience in the financial industry and is currently the Assistant Vice President in the Retail Branches at US Bank. She oversees the Employee Development Network for U.S. Bank in La Habra, CA. Sandra and her husband, Michael have been married for 30 years.
Rob Burns joined the Giving Children Hope Board of Directors in 2007. He is proud of the time he spends with Teri, his wife of 26 years, their four children, his financial services practice with Thrivent Financial, Habitat for Humanity, and Giving Children Hope. Rob received his business degree from California State University, Fullerton, and has several designations including Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFc®). He feels it is an honor and privilege to be associated with the outstanding Giving Children Hope staff and volunteers who dedicate their time to assist thousands locally and across the world.
Dave Stuart first found his passion for nonprofit organizations while working at Russ Reid, a marketing agency, where he helped deserving organizations raise funds for their programs. Dave has 28 years of marketing and sales experience that he graciously offers to Giving Children Hope.“Giving Children Hope is making a substantial impact. There aren’t many nonprofits I have worked with the size of Giving Children Hope that make the same impact with such limited resources.” Dave has spent his career helping companies and organizations grow and wants to do the same thing for Giving Children Hope.
Pete is a consultant-author-coach-speaker and the creator of Covenant Leadership, a simple approach to develop good relationships that bring happiness and success in life. He helps companies, government organizations and individuals develop high-performance leadership and culture. Pete has served in a variety of roles including President/CEO of Servite High School, Ethics Officer Los Angeles Unified School District, and a retired US Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier pilot. Pete is passionate about the impact Giving Children Hope has on the lives of children and families with a special focus on helping them develop a sustainable lifestyle.
Dr. Gardner graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Biology in 1975 and obtained an MD degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 1980. He practiced as an orthopedic spine surgeon in Orange County for 18 years, changing to full-time clinical research in 2006. He is currently the Medical Director of the Orthopedic Education and Research Institute of Southern California. Vance has been married to Carol (also a physician) since 1976. They have four grown children and live in Irvine, California.
Carolyn earned her degree in Human Resources from California State University of Long Beach and is a certified professional in Human Resources and Training for nearly 20 years. Carolyn is the Corporate VP of Human Resources of Raymond West. She also sits on the board for the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce. Carolyn and her husband Brian have been married for 20 years and live in Rossmoor with their two teenage daughters who both attend the same high school where they started dating. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys cooking, entertaining friends and family, and watching both daughters perform in their school show choir performances.
In her current role at Edwards Lifesciences, Gina leads a global team that is responsible for the talent management process, leadership development, technical training, diversity, inclusion and belonging, employee engagement, employee relations as well as merger and acquisition initiatives. Gina has volunteered at Giving Children Hope through her employer. She was moved by learning about the families that were being served through the We’ve Got Your Back program. She felt a warm welcome from those she interacted with at Giving Children Hope and felt the core values were closely aligned with her own.
As the Vice President of Product Development at Nutrilite and a long-time partner of Giving Children Hope, Audra brings valuable nutrition and management experience to Giving Children Hope’s Board of Directors. With an educational and professional background in nutrition, Audra was particularly drawn to our We’ve Got Your Back program. “I am inspired by areas of focus that are removing nutrition as a barrier for communities to flourish, Giving Children Hope is doing just that.”
Ron is an experienced and highly successful trial lawyer that oversees the litigation department at the law firm of Goe Forsyth & Hodges LLP. His complex litigation practice includes areas such as business and commercial law, professional malpractice (legal/accounting/real estate), health care, employment, insurance, officer and director liability, financial fraud, real estate, bankruptcy (including fraudulent transfers), unfair competition and trade secret, and personal injury. Ron also serves as outside general counsel to several successful California businesses, and as personal legal counsel to many high net worth individuals. He has also been retained to serve as an expert witness in claims involving legal malpractice and legal ethics.
Jolynn K. Mahoney
Jolynn is an Independent Property Casualty Insurance Agent for both personal and commercial lines of business, since 2015 at her family Insurance Agency, Huggins Dreckman Insurance. Previously, she worked as a Private Investigator at her own agency, Benn & Associates where she enjoyed an interesting twenty-five-year career, specializing in insurance defense and fraud claims investigation, corporate espionage of all types, litigation support, and family law matters. Jolynn is excited to join the Board of Directors of Giving Children Hope, “I have seen first-hand how efficient their non-profit services are to our community serving children and families in need during difficult times.”
Kim had a career as a Licensed Speech Pathologist with a Masters, working with children and teens with disabilities to improve their communication skills. She worked with children who struggled with stuttering, autism, developmental delays, and severe language delays. Kim is currently a Chairman for the program that Links to Learning with the Assistance League of Orange. Kim believes “It is a privilege to be a part of such a well-organized group dedicated to encouraging families which are struggling in the US and around the world. ”
