Whether it’s a tornado in Oklahoma or a typhoon in the Philippines, Giving Children Hope is staged and ready to send disaster relief supplies to those in a crisis situation. Thanks to our family of donors, Giving Children Hope is able to respond quickly and efficiently when a natural disaster strikes. Giving Children Hope believes in moving people from temporary relief to sustainable hope. Our efforts first focus on the immediate needs while simultaneously looking forward to innovate ways to more fully rebuild a life. Giving Children Hope sends approximately 40 large 40-foot shipping containers of medical supplies every year, depending on the need. Each container has close to $250,000 worth of supplies and can potentially impact 30,000 – 40,000 lives.
Who We’ve Helped
Giving Children Hope was one of the first responders to Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, with water filtration systems on the ground before the storm had finished. Since then Giving Children Hope has sent more than 15 shipments to the Philippines with items including food, boats, and medical supplies. Giving Children Hope has sent emergency sanitation
and relief supplies to support those in the field treating Ebola in Liberia. Since 2012, Giving Children Hope has continued to support Syrian refugees with essentials including food, clothing, hygiene items and more.
Other disasters Giving Children Hope has responded to include the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the 2011 Japan earthquake/tsunami, and Superstorm Sandy on the East Coast in 2012.
If you know an organization or cause internationally that could benefit from a shipment of disaster relief supplies please let us know! Please email Mikaela Buchanan for more information.
